As well as being used for the treatment of wrinkles, botulinum toxin is very effective at stopping sweat production. It does this by stopping the nerve signal to the sweat gland.

Sweat reduction treatment involves cleaning the underarm area before gently injecting small amounts of botulinum toxin in the top layers of the skin. Approximately 20 tiny injections are required under each arm. A very fine needle is used and the skin is barely pierced meaning that it is not a painful procedure and is well-tolerated by patients.

By using a very fine needle and barely piercing the skin, this treatment is not painful. Patients sometimes feel a stinging sensation.

Please do not shave or wear deodorant in the 24 hours before your treatment.

Sweat reduction treatment takes a few days to start working and then lasts for approximately 6 months.
